Lip Blush Tattoo
Pre-Care:
Avoid sun and tanning on your face two weeks prior to procedure. If you are sun burnt in the area, your appointment will need to be rescheduled and your deposit will be forfeited.
NO alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure to minimize swelling and oozing. (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea).
Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure. These will thin the blood and will cause more bleeding.
Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements two weeks prior to procedure.
Discontinue use around the mouth area: Retin-A, Chemical and Laser Peels, microdermabrasion, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), and any chemical exfoliant or “brightening” skincare at least 2 weeks prior
Avoid the following herbs and spices 48 hours before procedure: ginger, cinnamon, garlic, black and cayenne pepper.
In ADDITION to the list ABOVE, please make sure to exfoliate your lips one week prior to your appointment. Keep them hydrated and moisturized everyday. Also drink lots of water!
If you are prone to cold sores, this service could cause an outbreak.
Lip blush tattooing is a permanent makeup treatment that deposits coloured ink into the lips with a single mechanical needle through a quick hand motion and dotting technique.
While lip blushing lasts around 2-3 years between treatments, the aftercare protocols and best practices are similar to those of a permanent tattoo. The early healing stage lasts for 10-14 days and your lips should fully heal in around 4 weeks.
As with any tattooing procedure, your aftercare routine largely determines how your lips will look in the long term. Learning the best hygiene practices and necessary lifestyle modifications will ensure you end up with a properly shaded, smooth and healthy pout.
